Join us for a 2-day retreat at Camp Wokanda in Chillicothe, Illinois.  We will have the O.A. Lodge both days, and you can even spend the night in the lodge!

Doors open at 9:00 AM Saturday and close at 4 PM Sunday.

Bring your various fiber arts and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of friendly interaction.  There will undoubtedly be spinning, knitting, crochet, needle-felting, rug-hooking, dyeing, and other interesting fiber arts going on.

Aside from a pleasant place to practice whatever you’ve brought along, there will be a program on Furoshiki, the Japanese art of folding a cloth into various useful shapes (bags and other bundles) and ongoing dye activities (most likely wool and silk).  Spontaneous lessons may break out at any time, however!

Bring your own food and drinks.  Coffee & tea will be provided.  Potluck dishes to share are welcome.  There is a kitchen, but very minimal cookware.  There are modern indoor restrooms.

If you plan to spend the night in the lodge, bring your own bedding for the floor.  Otherwise, overnight options include cabins at the camp (with bunks) which can be rented separately, or various hotels located in nearby Chillicothe or Peoria.

Bring your own chair if a folding chair won’t work for you.  If you want to participate in the Furoshiki session, bring a cloth between 18 and 24 inches square.  The dyeing will be for wool and silk, bring your own fiber to dye and a covered microwavable container.

No reservations are required.  No cost to attend! Non-Guild members welcome!  Supervised children are welcome, but no babysitting services will be offered.
