Susan Sanders - Knit Beaded Bracelet
Susan has just joined BHFG. She has been participating in the weekly knitting group at Panache restaurant in Peoria. She enjoys the camaraderie with other women and the skills of those she meets in the two groups. When Susan was a child, her mother tried to teach her to knit, but she did not like it. But she has always loved crocheting. Four years ago she was lured to knitting by her “evil enabling sister” and now makes socks, sweaters and most anything else. Originally from Topeka, Kansas, she came to Peoria in 1990 to manage Sheridan Village and did so for six years. She had married by then and she and her husband went to France on a job with Caterpillar in 1996. She enjoyed staying at home and really liked the food, wine and people. She also learned to quilt while there and when they returned home in1998 they decided she would continue as a “non working” woman. In 2007 she taught herself to spin and hopes to soon learn how to ply. The Sanders also enjoy bicycling on country roads and trails in the area. They have motor biked from coast to coast and also kayak on rivers and lakes in the area. The couple also makes their own beer and wine, having grown to enjoy these beverages with meals while in Europe but found purchasing them too expensive. Recently, two kittens have come into her life and she enjoys spoiling them like a “grandparent”. Although she is an airplane pilot, she has not piloted so since 9/11 because of the increased rules and regulations. Susan will be providing Beaded Bracelet kits for under $15.00 as she has been doing a lot of shopping around to keep the price down. All that is need for the class is 0 needles.
